Messy Monday Fun

We had great fun creating Pumpkins at a recent Messy Monday session

The session is aimed at children over 2 (younger siblings are welcome) and is planned using the revised Early Years Foundation Stage Principles (learning development & care for children from birth to five)
It is a great opportunity for you and your child to have some fun with paint, gloop, glue, etc and to help your child to develop through sensory play.
We also do stories and rhymes during the session.
Many of the activities we do during our
sessions can also be done at home to help continue the learning process.

We hope to see you and your family at a session soon

Mondays 9.30am until 10.30am
Please note that our Play & Learn sessions can be very wet and messy so we suggest that you and your children wear old clothes and to also bring a spare set for your children to change into at the end of the session.

We will continue to use our outside play area as
much as possible during the Winter term, (alongside our indoor area) so please remember to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions on the day, raincoats, wellies, etc.

The Parenting Puzzle Course

What is the Parenting Puzzle?

Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be stressful and challenging.

The Parenting Puzzle courses help deal with those challenges so that you can have a calmer, happier life. They are tried and tested programmes, they helps us think about what we do, why we do it and how it makes us feel.

The courses encourage and support parents & carers to enjoy bringing up children of all ages and to get the best out of family life.

They offer positive, practical ways of guiding children so they learn to handle both their feelings and their behaviour.

The sessions are informal, fun and a great confidence booster.

Comments from parents who have attended the course

Some of the sessions that we covered I found very interesting and one in particular was aimed at family time and listening.  I found that I didn’t really listen to my children and realized that is why I was probably shouting a lot as they were doing the same to me. I cant say it has been a miracle cure but I now more aware of listening to my children, sometimes it is painful especially my 3 year old but they seem happier in the long run as I am giving them my attention.

I thought the Parenting Puzzle was really useful and enjoyable and full of lots of useful tips and advice.  I also thought it was a great opportunity to reflect on how you and your family are doing and what things you would like to do more of and what things you would like to change.  It also reminded me not to get so caught up in the day-to-day chores of family life that you lose sight of having fun with your children!
