A Stroll in the Sun!

It is the final task of our Communication Decathlon and it is the 1500 metres (do not worry we are not expecting you and your children to run the distance!).  It would be great if you could join us on Monday 28^th May at 9.30am – 10.30am for a stroll around the park.  The route we are taking is 1500 paces and there will be Olympic Rings hidden along the way!  It will be a fantastic opportunity to have a walk and talk with your children about what you see and do in the park.

If you usually come to Tiddler Time (under 2’s session) at 11.15am, and would like to come and join in the fun please come along at 9.30am, we would love to see you!  The Tiddler Time session will be running as normal from 11.15am – 12.15pm.

So put on your sun cream, sun hats, bring your water bottles and join us for a stroll in the sun!

Under One’s, New Parents and Breastfeeding clinic 11.30am – 1.00pm.

 Friday 8^th June:

Tina’s Musical Fun at the Pavillion in College Ride from 1.45pm-2.30pm.

We are now running Male Carer sessions every other month on a Saturday morning, although of course you are most welcome to attend all our regular sessions too.

The dates for these sessions are:

• Saturday 28th July
• Saturday 29th September

The session runs from 10am until 11.30am, activities vary but previously we have had fun playing golf, rugby, bug hunting and making crafts.

On Monday 12th March 2012 a group of us joined together in the park to say ‘HELLO’ for the fifth task of our Communication Decathlon.  The goal was to get 400 people to say ‘Hello’, which we did – with the help of our people paper chain the children had made over the previous two weeks.

We also played ‘Hunt The Hello’ – looking for ‘hello’ in different languages, hidden around the park.  With the help of a megaphone, children’s video camera and camera, we had a fabulous time.

A big ‘Thank You’ to Vicky, one of our mums, for taking some wonderful photographs of which you can see here – more are displayed in the Children’s Centre.

Monday 26th March 2012

On Monday 26th March we are combining the Messy Monday and Tiddler Time sessions.  The Play & Learn session will run from 10.00am until 11.30am and the activities will be outside in the park next to the Children’s Centre, so please dress appropriately for the weather on that day!

Outdoor Play Week coincides with Task 6 of the ECAT Communication Decathlon which is 110 Metre Hurdles.  There will be an obstacle course, elements of which all children of all ages can do (and parents for that matter)!  The goal is to complete the course 110 times whilst, of course, talking!

Messy Monday 12th March 2012  
Continuing our ECAT Communication Decathlon 400 metres theme we will be meeting at the Children’s Centre and taking all of the brilliantly decorated paper chain people to the park for a big group photo. 

The aim of this task is to get together 400 people to say ‘Hello’.  So please bring as many friends as you can (including teddies and dolls!) to join the people paper chain to say ‘Hello’!  Whilst we are in the park, there will also be a Hunt the Hello game for the children to play. 

So please dress for the weather (whatever that will be!), bring your friends and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 12th March at 9.30 am!!

 Is your child under 2 and ready for some fun?

Our Tiddler Time session runs from 11.15am until 12.15pm on Mondays.

The session is designed to offer ways to help your child learn through play. The sessions are planned using the Early Years Foundation Stage principles – learning, development & care for children from birth to five. Many of the ideas shown during the session can be used at home to continue the learning process.

In the photograph this little boy is exploring bubbles and learning to blow, a great oral muscle exercise which helps with speech development!  We make learning fun though sometimes we do get messy so don’t wear your best outfit!

No need to book for this session just drop in!
